Propirietary firm for software development

Hi experts,

I have more than decade experience in software development. I plan to start

software development parttime and later into own business when momentum gains.

what are the registration required(like service tax) for properietary firm (home based) and

the way to file the tax alongwith existing tax filing (already employed ). potential customers

are from abroad and india. is registration with ROC (registrar of companies)requred. please advise.

is tax filing with ROC required apart from IT department.

Dear Vinodh,

In order to start your own business , there are many aspacts to be covered.

First you decide whether you want to run the business of software developement as a propritory concern, partnership or a company. Legal formalities for each of then are different.

Once you decide the above aspect then we wil have to see the nature of your business and expected turnover per year. Accordingly the compliances and licenses / registrations in Tax authorities can be decided.
