what is the difference between Net profit & Retained profit?

In my opinion....
Net profit means profit derived after deducting all the expencess and provision.
and Retained profit means that portion of Net profit which is actuly not available for distribution to share holders means it is retained as a reserve by whatever name called Profit & loss a/c...genral reserve...revenue reserve etc.
