Profession tax on employees

If an employee is appointed with an salary exceeding Rs 10000 in June 2007  in the state of maharashtra (mumbai) then how much profession tax to be deducted for the month of February 2008? Rs 200 or Rs 300.?

Different state have different rate of Prof. Tax, Please mention the state where u paying prof., tax.

I am belong to AP - The Andhra Pradesh rates are

upt0 Rs. 1500    -   Nil

Rs. 1500 to Rs. 2000        Prof. tax is Rs. 16/-

Rs. 1601 to Rs. 3000        Prof. tax is Rs. 25/-

Rs. 3001 to Rs. 4000        Prof. tax is Rs. 35/-

Rs. 4001 to Rs. 5000        Prof. tax is Rs. 45/-

Rs. 5001 to Rs. 6000        Prof. tax is Rs. 60/-

Rs. 6001 to Rs. 10000        Prof. tax is Rs. 80/-

Rs. 10001 to Rs. 15000        Prof. tax is Rs. 100/-

Rs. 15001 to Rs. 20000        Prof. tax is Rs. 150/-

Above Rs. 20001/-  Prof. Tax is Rs. 200/-

Similearly Gujrat, Banglore have different rate.

Rs. 2500 in a year . Per month Rs. 200 except for the month it is to be required Rs. 300.00

Rs. 3001 to Rs. 5000        Prof. tax is Rs. 30/-


Rs. 5001 to Rs. 6000        Prof. tax is Rs. 40/-


Rs. 6001 to Rs. 7000        Prof. tax is Rs. 45/-


Rs. 7001 to Rs. 8000        Prof. tax is Rs. 50/-


Rs. 8001 to Rs. 9000        Prof. tax is Rs. 90/-


Rs. 9001 to Rs. 10000      Prof. tax is Rs. 110/-


Above Rs. 150001/-  Prof. Tax is Rs. 130/-
