One more question under what section are they required to file their return in AY-2017-18, 44AD or 44ADA?

Just check is needed here. Nursing homes, multispeciality hospital having set up with beds etc. are covered under business activity and hence can be assessed u/s. 44AD. But doctors doing clinical practice comes under their profession, and they will now be allowed to be assessed under section 44ADA.

As far as I know
Only eligible persons can avail the benefit of Sec 44AD
Eligible Assessee includes:
Hence, if Hospital is a constituted as per above stated forms, then only it can avail the benefit of presumptive taxation.
Whereas eligible assesssee under Sec 44ADA includes the following:
Persons engaged in any of the following professions:
• Legal
• Medical
• Engineering
• Architecture
• Accountancy
• Technical consultancy
• Interior decoration
• Other notified professionals
o Authorized representatives
o Film Artists
o Certain sports related persons
o Company Secretaries and
o Information technology
