Presentation in CA Papers

Hello friends.

I need help and have many doubts regarding writing CA - IPCC paper. I request Guidance on the writing and presentation of exam papers both Accounts and Theory for CA Examinations.

Some important doubts regarding the same:

  1. Does the order of "heads of income" in presenting computation of income important in Taxation??
  2. If a question has an alternative answer. namely Yes and No both. Can we write both with reasoning??
  3. For diagrams, flowcharts, etc. pencil or pen, which is more appropriate???
  4. Silly might sound but to mention Dr. and Cr. on top of "Account Head" also important?? Just a format of "Account XYZ" is enough and complete.

Please provide me some presentation tips useful to score better in the paper.

Sanjay

for points 1,2, and 4...the answer is YES

I always make diagrams, etc with a pen only...as i apprehend and highly doubt the clearity of a pencil-made diagram when it would reach the checker....u neva know hw they handle the exam sheets....

just be confident and gv ur paper professionally....presentation will automatically come out well....just write neatly, leave lines b/w points...

best of luck!!!

For 1 & 2 My answer is yes...and no need to prepare proper account just a format is enough....bcoz in professional Exams. Examiner Check ur knowledge not ur presentation...first try to complete the paper and then Write Dr. Cr. Whtever...and ya Malika is correct..write paper cofidently..presentation will automaticaly b good..........al d best.....

Point 02---It is always advisable to make your answer multi dimensional keeping in view the time available.

Point 03---For flow charts use Pen.

Point 04---For account ---use proper presentations i.e. use proper name of parties given in qus.

For theory presentation purpose check the link:

ALL MY EXAM TIPS AT ONE PLACE

Lastly, important point, for Accounts ONLY, Use of pencil is proper for preparing Final Accounts, namely, Balance Sheet, Ledger Accounts and Journal Proper. Or even pen is suitable for the same???

Likewise, flowcharts are recommended to be drawn by pen. So, even if the connectors and boxes are made with a pencil and the elemnts they resemble are highlighted by pen. Is this also proper?? Namely use of both for flowcharts

Thank you Ankur Sir, your link has proved very useful!!!.. :)

I neva take the risk of using a pencil in the papers...

In accounts also, use a pen to draw lines n tables....

Sanjay...u wont have any time to first use a pencil n then a pen and then highlight or outline anything....u'v gotta b very fast and efficient and DONOT  waste time in overdoing the basic parts(like drawing lines, etc) in the paper...just concentrate on ur paper...these lines and all should be drawn once only, that too wd a pen....

Hi Mallika.

I am confused over the use of pen/pencil because many coaching centres don't provide any presentation tips. As a student, I just want to know them since every attempt is important and I don't want to loose on the grounds of very silly mistakes despite hard work on content!!!..

thanks for your inputs..it has been very useful!!!

Its nice to know that u work on such specific things....they count allot in the examz...yet, the answers and the quality of language one uses in the examz counts the most...gud luck n keep up the gud work wd the same positive approach u have been following till nw...

suggestion given by ankur sir is .valuable...
Better presentation
