Hello! I request for guidance in preparation for second group of CA Final Exam. As I have never followed a time-table for studying, kindly guide me in preparing a time-table for the same. My exams commences from 10/05/2016. Following are the books that I am referring for my studies-

1] Advanced Management Accounting(Costing) - ICAI practice manual

2] ISCA - Not yet decided. But I am thinking of referring ICAI study material.

3] DT - Vinod Gupta modules.

4] IDT - Bangar Module.

Thanks.

Yes the books which you have chosen appears to be alright. In addition try to lay hand on PM's, RTP, Supplementary material on Amendments and Case laws issued by ICAI. For AMA you have mentioned only PM, also make sure you cover ICAI study material which can give you that decisive marks either in the form of a theory question or problems to score well.

Take up mock test, to evaluate your progress. Give importance to time during the course of preparation / revision / writing paper in the examination hall. Ensure that your presentation is on par which can fetch you quality marks.

You know the timings which suits you better, draw up a schedule accordingly and follow it religiously, success is going to ride on your back for the efforts. Best of luck.

You may refer the following books for your exam preparation –

Group 2 Books –

AMA / Costing – J B Gupta  (BEST) plus Study Material, Compiler and Practice Manual (It is better to prepare your own notes for theory portion – Must cover theory given in Practice Manual) (Padhuka is also good for self-study)

ISCA – Manish Valechha (BEST) (Memory Based Edition)... It is the best-selling book for ISCA. … it is comprehensive and easy to learn... It explains all topics with examples, diagrams, memory codes (refer study material if you have surplus time but not actually required). And at last, go through Practice Manual for important questions.

Direct Taxes - T.N. Manoharan Plus Summary Module of Vinod Gupta (Prepare notes for lengthy and typical portion, if possible). You can also refer Vinod Gupta Full Modules Set If you are having sufficient time for preparation.

Indirect Taxes – Vineet Sodhani or Bangar.
