Sir,

As per the RBI notification RBI/20.11-12 /299/DGBA.CD.NO.H-3764/15.2.001/2011-12/Dec15,2011-F.1/12/2061-NS-IIdt 25.11.11

The ppf  deposit limit increased from Rs.70,000 to 1 lac.

It is mentioned in the RBI circular, copies have  been marked to State Bank of India. But when I had been to the SBI, Mettur Dam branch they refused to receive deposit beyond Rs.70,000 saying that they have not received the circular. If  deposit made  after 6th of every month interest will not  credited for that month. This is our difficulty.

Mr. Natrajan,

You should take a copy of this notification and show it to the concerned person in the Bank. Rs. 1,00,000/- limit is already operational from December 5, 2011 and every bank should abide by the laws.

Plus I'm not sure with the interest part because I have not come accross anything like this as such. So let others comment on this as well.

Regards,

Jinay Savla
