A person filed tax return of AY 2013-14 (refundable amount Rs. 19590). Since he failed to send the hard copy, it was rejected.
In AY2014-15 he went to UAE (on 14-Aug-2013) as part of his job and stayed there till Dec 2015. No return were file for AY 2014-15(refundable amount Rs.16166) and AY 2015-16.
Is there any possibility of getting refund for AY 2013-14 and AY 2014-15?

For A.Y 2013-14, you may please take benefit of Circular No. 13/2016 dt. 9th May, 2016, wherin final opportunity has been to the taxpayers to regularize their pending income-tax returns pertaining to the Assessment Year’s 2009-2010 to 2014-2015. Please send the ITR-V Acknowledgement and get your ITR validated.
For A.Y. 2014-2015, you are requested to please file the Income Tax Return manually along with an application for Condonation of delay u/s 119(2)(b) with the Principal Commissioner / Commissioner of Income Tax outlining the reasons why Return should be taken on board. This is as per CBDT’s circular 9/2015 [F.NO.312/22/2015-OT], DATED 9-6-2015.
Refund for both years is possible.
