Hi,

pls try to follow my dear indians.

A kind request.......

During our independence, Punjab people actively participated in all revolutions against British.

For this reason to tease them, British Men used to publish SARDAR JOKES to tease them in their magazines.

But we still follow that . So Plz edit SARDAR & use JACK ( english man) instead.

Our army contains 65%  of sikh! Let's respect them & their sacrifice...

Please give more replies on this forum so it can becom more popular and can reach to every member of CA club India.

I have also posted many jokes on sardars in this site, for that I am really very sorry.

Could you provide  reference for the comments you are making.  Give us the url...

I fully respect ur views. Moreover its not a question of how much %age, sikhs are in our army or in any other related field, making fun on smbody's attire is equally blasphemous is making fun of their faith.

It would be equally harrasening 4 anybody else to face such fun upon themselves. So i fully  endorse ur views.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for d awakening.!!!!!!

I am glad at your views. This will be a good move to pay respect to them..

Its our duty to pay respect to those who actively participated for our freedom and still now participating to protect our country :)

Agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally agreed... I would also like to share  a short story which many of us must have known..

Once there went a group of people on a tour to north India where they took a taxi.. the taxi driver was a sardarji.. And as obvious these people kept passing sardarji jokes.. The sardarji remanied quiet for everything and at the end of the travel, after getting the taxi fare, he gave one rupee to each of them and asked them to give it to 1st sardarji beggar they met..  And as such they were not able to find even 1 beggar who was a sardar...

A sardarji may be a truck driver or he may run a dhaba, but at no cause will he let his self esteem or pride down..

Though we dont appreciate their pride, let us atleast not make fun of them nor pull their legs anymore.. Afterall, they are fellow beings who are just lke us.....

I completely agree with ur views Mr. Himanshu............

Dear Himanshu,

I see many times your contribution to the forum. I like it all the times.

Now  jokes have been shifted from "sardar" to Santa Singh-Banta Singh.

Some magazines use following characters to create humour  -

Juharmal Marwadi, Karsan Kadka (Gujarati) , Santa Singh-Banta Singh etc..

The moment we read the above names; we get pleased instantly.

When we use certain names; it becomes the identity of the subject-matter. Like Akbar-Birbal's conversation with the added flavour of intelligence.

Practically each one Indian like and respect Sardarji  although  it is true that humour has been created by using the character of SARDARJI. In my opinion; we don't look whole Sardar Community as funny.

We should not forget that one Sardar Gyani Jail Singh has remained President of India and presently our prime minister is Sardar Manmohan Singh. The great economist Sardar Montek Singh is also well known. We proudly remember Bhagat Singh also.

Humour is the necessity of life. This is a gift to mankind by  God. No other living creature can laugh except mankind. Although we  see some animals crying.

On the same line; Marwadis have been shown as "Makkhichoos" practically which is not true. See the various TV serials now-a-days which show the great culture of Rajasthan and it is liked by all. If one visits the citis and villages of Rajasthan; he will find so many charitable institutions run by them since last more than 50 years!  Most of the 'GAUSHALAS' are run by them, for example.  One should not forget Birlas' contribution in the initial industrial growht of the country. Still thus family  don't  misuse  money.

If one visits the villages of Rajasthan; you will find the love and affection between people. Despite all odds; this community have been able to flourish due to hard labour. This is the only community which recognized value of money. Tell me who don't consider the value of money now-a-days.

I ask one question; why every Indian rush for free items if offered ?

So, the matter which you raised is not so important. We all are one and same. Can anyone say that we don't respect each other ?

I respect your views looking to the fact that you are a student. I am proud of you that you raise such issues in your student life.

Thanks.

Dear all,

We all are taking this to seriously . Already our life is full of tension and stress . we should take all the jokes with pinch of salt ... Jokes are meant to lighten the atmosphere and destress yourself when anyone cracks a joke is only intention is to cheer and bring smiles to others . we all are professionals and everyone is educated enough not to hurt the sentiments of others ....

These jokes are been said now for years and we all have grown up on these. I cant understand by you are linking jokes with the % of people representing in army .. We also crack jokes on  various topics like MBA, CA , about girls, marriages etc .. Tomorrow  then we will have to stop these .if someone like you raises objection on this. you should understand that this is a forum where there one sub section humour ..

The person who posts these jokes wants to share light hearted moments with his millions of members . No one needs to apologise for this. With regard to respect  just by posting one joke does not imply that we are disrespecting any one . respect is different thing all together  . how we actually treat others in reality that is what matters.

My message  : Life is too short to take it seriously.... .  .
