hi everybody,i have my PCC attempt in november and i have to go for self study only for income tax subject.So pls advice me as 2 which book 2 follow so that it is easily understandable for me.i heard about vkshingania's book n padhukas n also g shekar's book.so pls tel me which is d best book for self study.thank you.

V K Singhania's book is a good option for self study.

TN Manoharan is the best for exam based study so that u can complete the subject. SInghania,u can keep as a reference. I got 75 marks studying it. I dont know much about G shekars book.

there is another book option, its by CA Arvind Tuli, excellent book for self study with simple language and also covers for scanner.

V. K. Singhania book is good, Read it, Prepare short notes for important topics and revise at regular interval.

the name of the Books is " Students guide to Income Tax " by Dr.Vinor K Singhania , Dr. Monica Singhania . The book is very good for taxations which inlcudes service tax and vat. for the AY 2009-10. Pls prepare the notes on section wise. Becoz sections are very important in CA exams.
