18 April 2011Assessee paid TDS for Quarter IV 2010-11 that is Jan11 To March 11 but while making online payment Assessment year 2012-13 was entered instead of 2011-12. Please tell me how it can be rectified? Its urgent because if payment has to be made again Assessee will have to pay interest also.

Write a letter to the TDS Assessing Officer stating the Facts. Also attach the TDS Challan with the letter.

Contact your local TDS officer and give the letter to him explaining the position along with relavent proofs.
The concerned TDS officer has the power to change the assesment year so wrongly entered.
