Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the applicability of cash flow statements for private companies during the FY 20-21 audit. It highlights that the definition of a 'small company' for FY 20-21 is based on Section 2(85) of the Companies Act 2013, with a revised definition effective from April 1st, 2021, for FY 21-22. Crucially, Section 2(40) of the Act exempts small companies from preparing cash flow statements, though confirmation on any amendments is advised.

Small companies for F.Y 20-21 refer section 2(85) of the companies act 2013 , however definition of small company has been changed w.e.f 1/4/2021 applicable for F.Y 21-22.

As per section 2(40)  of the Companies Act 2013  , Cash Flow statement  not  required  for  Small  Companies , please confirm  with  any  amendments  . Refer  section 2(40)  of the Companies  Act  2013.
