PLEASE HELP :articleship in big Firms

I m PE2 student.I have done my B.COM. I have cleared group1 in May 07. But I could not clear group2 in Nov07. NOw i m waiting for my result. Can i get into BIG firms.DOES no. of attempts matter?HOW should I apply for articleship? What preparation should i do now?
