I m doing articleship & my article period of 8 mths hv compltd.
I can share u my experiences bt tel me wat actually u r doing.
R u doing CA & wants to join Articleship or else?

Look experience in articleship depends on the firm you are joining in.
If you join a big firm who have good name in the market surely they must have good clients and good
clients means good work.

on the other hand if you join a mid sized or small firm they would have limited work and it would mean less exposure..
also i would like to tell you articleship is not the end its just a means to get your qualification.

Hi Pooja

During the articleship period, we have to do all those work which our senior demands.

Like In Taxation : We have to - file Income Tax Returns of Companies/firms/Individuals etc.
                                                -  do Tax Audit as required by the Statute.

       In Statutory Audit  : We have to see whether the books of accounts of the companies are made in accordance with the provisions
                                         as contained in the respective statutes.

      In Internal Audit    :  We have to check the internal proceedings of the company, detecting of errors and frauds, giving suggestions
                                        to the management for improving their work and apprise the management about all the flaws which we have
                                        seen in their system and the procedure to rectify them.

Regarding question of how to interact with client:

In case of Statutory Audit and Tax Audit, you can simply demand from the person concerned any of the information which you find it necessary for the purpose of your work.

In case of Internal Audit, you have to give your reports to the management so you have to be keep in tough with the person concerned through out your audit period.

I did audit in Production Process, Purchases, Dyeing, Trims and Accessories, Books of Accounts, Statutory Audit, Agency Audit of Citi Financial Agencies etc.

Can you please tell me exactly what you want i.e. what type of audit experience you want to ask.
