Dear Shivani,
In case of coal you have to see
Firstly wether the coal is kept in any warehouse or in an open area, If it is kept in warehouse then you should chek the stock register and the invoice books, you should also enquire and confirm that the quantity of coal shown in the books is in parity with the capacity of warehouse ( if the quantity of coal shown in the books is HIGHER than CAPICITY of the warehouse then there is something wrong going on)
Secondly if the coal is kept in an open area then you have to tally the Quantity shown in books and quantity derived on the basis of geometrical method of ascertaining the volume on the basis of the area covered by the coal and the height the stack of coal. in this case you can take help of an expert if you are unaware of the geometrical method.
if there is any other method then please let me know.
