If you are not risk-averse, go for mutual funds or ELSS else invest in PPF.

If you looking for more returns over risk go for equity oriented mutual fund. While Debt oriented Mutual fund are good for fixed returns, returns will also depend on the period of investment

PPF is a good option for risk free long term investment and also has tax benefits, but not a liquid fund, you can withdraw certain amount only after certain no of years in PPF.

but I thinks do not give advice if you self do not use or do not have min 3-5 experience about Stock /Mutual Fund

I  follow stock market last 4-5 year , and also invest and trading both

Ajay , first you decide your goal , holding period, amount to invest and risk level

after that decide  where you should invest and for which goal achieve 

I have a best of best advice and I also use ,  Invest in  Sens*x ETF Fund
