If one person is getting two pensions, one for himself and one for family pension, will he get any exemption?

No Exemption as per your query if two pensions received by you

How can you receive two pensions ?

Does it mean that he has to calculate both the pensions and pay the tax?

yes. on one pension std deduction is ok I suppose but second pension no deduction

One pension which he get himself is shown under salary will get standard deduction on it
the second one family pension will shown under income from other sources
rs 15000 or 1/3rd of family pension received whichever is less is exempt from tax

Just remember you have to deduct the lowezt out of two from family pension and shows it
