Is someone using this feature for about 100-120 staff with multiple pay heads, like basic, HRA, DA, Provident Fund, etc?

yes my experience is good with tally. Just you need to configure it properly.
It can be processed on both basis(salary based on attendance and salary based on manually entered amount).
