I am trying to file ITR for the financial year 2014-2015.

When i calculate the tax by giving the appropriate amount in the respective it shows i have to pay tax amount of Rs.3030/- . How do i pay this amount? I see there is an link in incometaxefiling site but i am confused whether i have to pay this amount before clicking on SUBMIT button on ITR1 form or after submitting we can pay this amount? Please guide me on this.

Tax is payable before filing the ITR form as you will havwe to give the challan details in the ITR.

Actually you can file a return with tax payable. So you can submit at anytime, but its better to pay first and then submit.

If not then either you will have to revise the return u/s 139(5) or you will have to refile in response to notice u/s 139(9).

Thanks a lot :)

I have another clarifiacation. I have worked in two companies in last financial year.

HRA is not mentioned in my Form 16 so I am calculating the net salary by calculating HRA on my own. I did it on monthly basis ( May'14 to Feb'15 in one company  and Mar'15 in another company). But actually i have quit my first company on 13-Feb-15 and from 16-Feb to 31-Mar worked in the second company)

Do i need to calculate this HRA considering this date also? I am confused on this.

You can calculate HRA on your own even if its not mentioned in form 16. In your calculation do confirm that whether it was actually received or not . Since you left on 13th, your employer must have given proportionate amount.

No. They didn't mention any amount for HRA in my Form 16. They didn't collect the rent receipt from me since am leaving the company.

I got to know i can recalculate the salary by considering the HRA on my own. As of now i have calculated on monthly basis..like May to Feb in one and Mar in other company.

Is it correct ? or do i need to calculate date wise?

No. They didn't mention any amount for HRA in my Form 16. They didn't collect the rent receipt from me since am leaving the company.

Where i can see that proportionate amount? in my payslip?

Any problem if i did it on monthly basis?

During my evaluation of ITR form , will they ask for payslips to confirm the HRA and period of work in both the companies including date?

Could someone please help me on my query?

Thanks in advance.

First Check your pay slip , therein should be the details of all the annount forming part of your salary , further do confirm the amount with the actual salary received (bank statement) . Since you left the job on 13th so HRA must have been proportional only (why would employer pay for full month when you worked only for part of the month ) . If by evaluation you mean processing of return u/s 143 , then no details will be called for but such information can be called for in case of scrutiny

You have to calculate yourself if there is any HRA component in the part month salary. Check your salary sip for break up. If not provided, chances are you have received salary only. However, you can ascertain the allowance amount based on your previous month(Jan15) salary slip. calculate the proportions for 13days pay.

Dear Devrajan ji,

if you received form 16 from employer and tax is payble there when you see the 26as or tds certificate of employer you fill the tax in tds colomun in itr otherwise you pay these tax on website of efilling income tax and file you itr
