Yes TDS to be deducted. But not required in case payment by Individual

We are running a trust and we are having a medical college. Our CA has told us that there is no need to deduct tax at source for teachers as teaching does not fall under profession.

if payment is in form of salary then also TDS.
And for TDS purposes such payments are falling under 194J and TDS must

Please check this

And also check this:

TDS will be must deducted either under section 194J if they pay amount as professional charges or under sec 192B if they pay as salary
