The director of a company (dormaant one, but they want to revive now) did not update his PAN in DIN yet. As the time allowed to do it was until 30/04/2012, can he do it now by filing DIN4? will there be any penalties?

I hope time allowed is for deactivation after the due date. Hence, you may update PAN in DIN4.

Did you mean PAN updation in DIN is still allowed after the due date?

Infact DIN without PAN updation is active yet. Hence, you may update PAN in DIN4. I myself not tried after the due date, but it would work...pl try and update me.
Yes you can update PAN by filing DIN4. There will not be any penalty.
