Pan status

One of our clinet(society) has 5 units in different places but units also has taken pan & tan separately without having status u/s 139A of income tax act.

My question is whether unit can take the separte pan & Tan?

if not possible as per act wat we have to suggest them?

Hi deepu.. You didn't mention that which society.. It seems that you are talking about cooperative society.. For PAN registration of co-op society, their registration certificate is required.. Hence, if inadvertently more PANs are issued, then surrender additional PANs

You can have a TAN for each place of business but you cannot have different PAN for the single entity.

surrender additional PAN to the IT Deptt. because an entity can have only one PAN. but u can have diff. TAN for diff places, there is no problem with that.
