Whether it is necessary that in my pan application form that i should give a proof that the photo pasted is my one...

for ex i am attaching my school transfer certificate as proof of identity ( no photo of mine in that) and my ration card copy as address proof in which also my photo is not there..Then how does the Dept knows that the photo attached is mine...

pls adivce in tis regard

Dear friend,

It is not required to attach a photo proof with PAN application. I think this is because IT department considers only that the person applying for PAN is residing at the place mentioned in the application of PAN so as to facilitate IT Dept. select a ward or circle for filing Income Tax return and other proofs like Ration Card or Driving License or school leaving certificate helps IT department to confirm this. Therefore, Photo identity is not required with the application of PAN. Whatever i have said is not any law and my opinion just.
