best way to chech pan. go to tin.nsdl site click for register of PAN, enter the PAN no and Name if it say ok then PAN no. is correct otherwise wrong..

Saraltax has disabled the link on dep advise. Now except round abouts we can not get PAN details. I do not understand the department reasons to withhold the information from public.
The PAN is 10 digit no. so kindly check the 4th letter of the card holder,
P- Individual
F-Firm
C-Company
H-HUF
A-AOP
T-Trust,etc
The 5th letter of the card holder will be the 1st letter of the surname of the card holder.
Even if doubt exists the same can be verified by income tax authorities by the below mentioned link:
