No, you can'nt apply for the pan card on the name of the Proprietorship firm because in the Proprietorship Firm your indiviudal pan card is treated firm pan card.

even you have to file the income tax return only one time , not like the partnership firm or pvt ltd company.

thanks for your quick response, but can I use my housing society registration certificate with name of '.... Limited' in pan application without 'Ltd' in its name ?

The name should be same as per certificate issued by the registration authority. (here registrar of housing society)

Any addition or changes will not be accepted and the application will be rejected.
