Paid advance tax with challan 286 instead of 280

I paid advance tax using challan 286 and thus I got income tax notice to pay tax with interest using challan 280

How to correct this problem as AO is saying that he cant modify challan type . Moreover this challan is not reflected in my Form 26AS

Is my money gone?

No worries no offence you can place the request before your jurdictional A.O. He change the particulars of the challan.
