The following aspects should be consider, in no particular order: [list] [*]Last few year exception reports MIS reports for last few years Industry Standards Problem areas identified in earlier audits Performance standards Operation standards Major & Minor Operations Inspection and Expediting reports Internal Report Self Assessment reports ......... I think you would get a fair picture at the preliminary stage and for audit procedures also [/list]
For major areas it would depend on what are the process, scope of the audit, the standards and the performance of the company (also whether the operations audit is for compliance or for efficiency)
