Online mode is still not available...hope it's not offline this time!

Madam, it is still not online.

Any idea by when online mode will be made available?

Expected by the month end.  

Starting from 01.04.2023 till the end of May, 2023, assuming the online mode be available from May end, i.e. 2 months gone. Last date for filing is 31.07.2023. Remains 2 months only for filing. So, this is the policy of the government. Result is that, heavy rush in filing at the last moment. Taxpayers and their advocates will be puzzled. 

Income-tax Returns Form ITR 1 and ITR 4 are enabled at the portal in Online mode with prefilled data. Other ITR would be available in few days

N.B.  Not to worry much, as the AIS report would be more accurate only after the due date of SFT filing by various agencies.

Assesses need to check the AIS reports before filing ITR now, so that the ITR may not get defective.

Secondly, this time chances of extending last date of filing return is increasing day by day.
