Hello.

I have been filling my IT returns for assessment years 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 as NRI.

Since May 2010 I am living in India, and I have the floowing question.

1. What will be my status for IT purposes for the assessment year 2011-2012 since I will be living in India during the accoutning year 2010-2011 for more than 182 days. (During the last four accouting years till Mar 2010, I have been comnig to India every year for about 45 days for holidays)

Thanks

For AY 2010-2011 I have filed return as NRI because during the previous years I was mostly in abroad.

It is for the AY 2011-2012, I like to know my status as I am during this Accounting year I will be in living India for more than 182.

You will be ordinary resident if you satisfy one condition in this two if you stay more than 182 days in india. Or 60 days in preivous year and 365 days in preceding four assessment year.
