NRI Dividend Tax COMPUTATION

Hi, for an NRI, where exactly to show the Dividend income under OS(Income chargeable at special rates),

  • Dividends received by non-resident (not being a company) / foreign company chargeable u/s 115A(1)(a)(i) (OR)
  • Investment Income of a Non‐Resident Indian ‐ chargeable u/s 115E

Please let me know, Thanks.

Summary: You should report your dividend income under "Income from Other Sources" in your ITR. For tax purposes, this is generally governed by Section 115A (taxed at 20%) rather than the Section 115E regime, which is specific to foreign exchange assets. Always verify your TDS credit via Form 26AS before filing.
