NRI can apply for IEC

Check out on DGFT web site. ( Director General of forgine Trade) , or contact through phone, e.mail etc. (  NRI  may required  approval  for  Reserve Bank Of  India for IEC )  

As per FTP any person, except those who arein  exempted categories,who wants to do import and export business in India must have IEC. In case of NRI he should have requisite documents like RBI permission ,Saving or Current account with bank etc.
