IF notice from the income tax department is received on saturday, can we say that since the office was closed we received the notice on monday?

Date of receiving of notice counts from the day, when it reaches assessee. So u can't deny that.

agree with ratan... You can ask AO to give some more days credit by appying for adjournment if you wish...
can i not argue that i had nt received the office during office hours??
take a letter of request for the adjournment and duly stamped by a.o
