I had e-filed my brother's income tax return on 30/07/2013 for AY 13-14 and it reached the CPC well in time, on 20/08/2013. The return had a claim for a refund.
But it's been 8 months now, and there's no update on the e-filing website, except that the return is 'Received' and 'In process'.
I called the helpline no., 1800-425-2229, many times but even they seem to have no other response regarding the same.
I think, 8 months is a pretty long time for a return to get processed, considering that it was just a simple ITR-1 and had no other special considerations in it.
Do I have any recourse for the same?
