Are there any guidelines available on the applicability of the registration and mandatory requirement of registration on the charitable trust for Darpan Portal Registration?

If trust is not getting any funds from the government or not having any Foreign contribution then is it mandatory for such trust to get itself registered on the Darpan Portal?

if yes as per which section or rules or any notification or circular???

As per the PMLA Maintenance of Records, Rules, every Banking Company or Financial Institution have to register the details of NPO client on the DARPAN Portal of NITI Aayog. So even if you are not having contributions, FCRA or otherwise, your bank may ask for it.

So does the trust need to register on the Darpan portal or not ? is it mandatory or not ?

Yes, the onus is on the bank to have the darpan id of NPOs as part of their customer records. Therefore, the trusts/NGO is supposed to register itself and provide the Darpan Id to the bank.

i have beentrying to register on Darpan portal. The registration procedure is not user friendly. It gets stuck in every step...i had contact the support team...
