New syllabus paper-wise exemption query to pass modules

Hi All,

I have passed 3 modules under old syllabus (2nd Module remains), now due to compulsory switch over, the exams in which I am supposed to appear are as follows:

MODULE 1 - Corporate Restructuring

MODULE 2 - Information Technology and systems audit AND Forex Management

MODULE 3 - Elective paper

I want to know what will be minimum marks required to pass my CS Professional now? Like earlier there were 2 papers so total 100 and min 40 in each was the scenario, but now what?? Is it like I need 50 min in each now? Please if anybody has an idea about it, kindly clarify.

And i hope the exemptions I have received from old syllabus are permanent and not only for 3 attempts (I hope i dont have to go as far as 3 attempts though).

1) yes exemptions are permanent. Its not like ICAI.

2) all the papers you have passed are held as passed irrespective of the marks you obtain in remaining papers afte switch over.

3) regarding the marks after switch over, you have to get follwing minimum marks to pass :

Corporate Restructuring - 50 marks minimum
Information technology - 50 marks minimum
elective paper - 50 marks minimum.

4) Reason for 50 marks minimum is :

the condtion is 50% minimum for passing a group and 40% for passing a subject is the basic rule, right?
Now after switch over the remaining paper is individually considered as a "group" and you have to obtain minimum 50 in that subject out of 100 marks
If you have left with 2 subjects in new syllabus in a single group then you can obtain 40 & 60marks then you will be held as pass.
But unfortunately you are left with one subject in each of the group,
hence you MUST HAVE to obtain minimum of 50 marks in each subject. Otherwise even though u get 49 marks you will be held as fail.

Hi.... Ohh yes my doubts are cleared and quite a relief too....2nd mod i have 2 papers -Information technology AND FM.....so 40-60 will be good here....rest 50....i get it.... Thank you so much Mr. Karan....this was indeed very helpful :) :)

Hello,

I have been a student of CS Professional Old syllbus..I cleared Modules 1, 2 and 3 in June 2015 examination. I scored the following marks in Module 4 which I didnt clear:

Due Diligence and Corporate Compliance Management: 38

Goverance, Business Ethics and Sustainability: 48

Now I am supposed to switchover to the New Syllabus. Please tell me what are the subjects for which I will have to register for and take the exam in December 2015 attempt.

Also if you can also suggest which out of the 5 elective subjects is the most easily manageable.
