19 March 2021A client needs to make payment to a person in the USA for using the content of their books & they just share their softcopy & we use the softcopy to print the books in India. Is this payment exempt & if not exempt nature of payment for deducting TDS.

Please check whether it falls under the Definition of Copyright along with Section 9(i) then decide on TDS applicability.
