U can also participates into other programmes conducted by nirc/icai time to time (apart frm National Convention)

Yup i have attended one in Indore in august 2011

I dont feel there was anything important to attend the same

even i paid the fees and i got so bored in the first day of the convention that i didnt attended the second day

The National convention consists of breakfast, lunch & dinner and it is important for only those who participate in the debate/ elocution

For the rest of the audience, it is of no use

I would strongly recommend you to attend National Conferences/Coventions.I have attended 3 National conferences/conventions since 2008.I had a great time attending all the Conferences.I was privileged to attend the wonderful sessions of personalities like Padmashri Tn Manoharan sir,Mpv Vijaykumar sir,Pattabhi Ram sir....and the list goes on and on.My personal view is that one should attend the conventions.it helps you to update yourself with latest happenings.Most of the conventions deals with aspects like IRFS,Company Bill,XBRL,Forensic auditing etc which are of  great importance in the present days.It is important for not only student speakers but also for the 1500+ audience who attend the convention.the upcoming convention is at bengaluru.Mpv sir and ahuja sir are attending.Trust me their sessions will be awesome.I have'nt attended the sessions of other personalities who will  chair other tech sessions.You might come across people doing chit-chat and stuffs like that.If you are ready to pay full attention You will benefit out of  the conventions.Rest is upto you to decide.....

Even I have attended many national conventions. But I want to know the importance of presenting papers in national conventions. I like to but don know how to participate 

ATTENDING A NATIONAL OR REGIONAL CONVENTION IS VERY HELPFUL BECAUSE WE GET UPDATED ON THE LATEST CHANGES IN THE PROFESSION AND OTHER TECHNICAL ASPECTS. THERE ARE ALSO MOTIVATIONAL SESSIONS WHICH HEPL US IN CHANGING OUR PERSPECTIVE TOWARDS LIFE AND THE PROFESSION.

For presenting a paper at a national convention you can get in touch with the ICAI Branch nearest to you. Also, keep checking the students journals regularly. they, inform you about the upcoming conventions at various places, and they invite speakers, people interested can contact at the mail id or no. given and submit papers as per specifications. Then these papers are shortlisted based on content, quality, innovation etc. and you are invited to be a student speaker. It is a great exposure for  students to be able to present papers at such national conventions as eminent personalities of our profession chair the sessions. 

I STONGLY RECOMMEND ALL TO ATTEND ATLEAST ONE CONVENTION. AND IF POSSIBLE PRESENT ONE TOO.
