Name in disqualified directors list

Hi

one of the director had retired from the position of board in sept 2013.it is even before the commencement of the companies Act 2013 .he is also having the annual report of that particular year.however the company did not file the forms.his name is also mentioned in the disqualified list.

what is the alternative available to him.

can he be appointed as a director in a new company now?or is he disqualified?plz clarify.
