Name as per pan card and it record might be different

Hi, I was trying to file the return of income through https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/portal/index.do for my wife. Initially as you all know that we need to register the details through PAN. When I did the same, it throws me some error stating that the details/ credentials provided are incorrect. After many failures, I called to customer care in IT department and later found that the name accepting in the above website (updated for IT records) and in PAN card is different as under:

Details	First Name	Middle Name	Sur Name
As per PAN Card	AISWARYA		DAS
As per IT Records			AISWARYA DAS

Now little bit of worry to file E-return with the surname as the complete name. Thanks and regards, CA Ramesh Chandra Das

However we can also cross check with paymnet challan 280,

for knowing full name,as per it records,

In F49A there is column "Name which you likely to be Printed on PAN Card.'

Some persosns may alter, spelling differ, Initial, so their full name and On PAN card names are different. In many case spelling are differ in challan 280 and on pan CARD.

in may cases long names are not permitted, so short names are to be printed in card.
