Audit Trail maintenance has indeed become mandatory for all companies from April 1, 2023, as per the Companies (Accounts) Rules, 2014 (latest amendments).
It helps in tracking all financial transactions in a detailed, transparent way.
The removal of "audit trail" as an option might be related to software or platform changes, but the legal requirement remains.
Using AI-powered audit trails can definitely make compliance easier, reduce manual work, and improve accuracy.
