First of all you should check out in your salary slip that whether ur getting any exempted elements in the compensation? (like, conveyance, HRA etc.) and if after excluding the exempted elements, it exceeds Rs. 160000(being a male assesee) or 190000(in cas of female assesee), then on the balance amount you will be charged tax @ 10%. if not exceeding the limit then no tax is required to be paid.
