My friend's dad is running a Hardware business. His turnover is around 5lacs p.a. He wants to get registered for MVAT. Can anyone please tell me the exact procedure and what is the inital payments that need to be made?

But I just want to know some more info about the initial payments. The link which you had given says and initial deposit of Rs. 25,000 has to be made. Please tell me is it neccessary to pay such deposits or not.
