better go for main book ,because handbook contains answers in short and in diagramatic representational form which sometimes makes difficult for those who have not that much knowledge about a partticular topic and student get confused....main book is vast but is managable if time utilisation is proper...

Main book is the detailed version for handbook .... if u r going to do law for the first tym atleast follow main book twice ...... once u get a grip on the subject then only u can refer handbook . Becoz handbook contains precise text ..  i wud recommend u to go for main book and practice manual so dat u can have good grip on the subject . Gudluck

Go for both.main book for detail answer and handbook to conceptulise all the provision in eaay manner.

Since law is a very easy and scoring subject in 1st group past examination question practice is must.

U can also take the combination of hand book and pm of icai.
