Quick Summary
This discussion addresses a situation where TDS was deducted at 20% on a fixed deposit due to an inoperative PAN card, despite the individual holding another operative PAN linked to Aadhaar. The consensus is that a refund can only be claimed if the deductor rectifies their TDS return with the correct, operative PAN. It's also highlighted that possessing multiple PAN cards is an offence and not permissible.

Unless the deductor rectifies the TDS return with the PAN (linked to Aadhar), you cannot claim the TDS.

An assesse cannot have multiple pan card

This is an offence to keep 2 pan cards ourselves.
