MSME( Micro small medium enterprise) registration

How To Register Small Scale Enterprise:

Earlier The Small Scale Enterprise is registereed under the Industries Development and Regulation Act, 1951

But with effect from the October 2, 2006 Now SSI is registered under the Micro Small Medium Enterprise Act, 2006 alternatively known as MSMED Act, 2006.

According to Act Small enterprise is categorised in three groups which are as under.

(1) For Manufacturing Activity:

Micro Enterprise – Enterp[rise in which Investment in Plant & Machinery is upto Rs. 25 Lakhs

Small Enterprise - Enterprise in which Investment in Plant & Machinery is ranging from Rs. 25 Lakhs to Rs. 5 Crore

Medium Enterprise - Enterprise in which Investment in Plant & Machinery is ranging from Rs. 5 Crore to Rs. 10 Crore

(2) For Service Activity:

Micro Enterprise – Enterprise in which Investment in equipments upto Rs. 10 Lakhs

Small Enterprise - Enterprise in which Investment in equipment is ranging from Rs. 10 Lakhs to Rs. 2 Crore

Medium Enterprise - Enterprise in which Investment in equipment is ranging from Rs. 2 Crore to Rs. 5 Crore

For Registration of any enterprise under this act Enterprenuer has to make detailed project of his product. Data which should be included in the project is as follows:

market potential of the products to be manufactured

technology aspect
plant and machinery requirement and availability
raw materials with specifications
land and building requirement
utility requirement namely power, water, steam and others
manpower requirement
financial arrangement and profitability

Then enterprenuer has to fill up Enterprise Memorandum Part I on the Internet via following link:

Then Applicant has to take 4 copies of form & file it with project report to District Industries Centre of Ahmedabad which is situated at 1^st Floor, Bachat Bhavan, Relief Road, Ahmedabd

After checking all the documents & taking necessary information into account DIC will grant provisional License to Applicant.

Note: There is no processing charge for application.

The provisional License will be valid for 5 years. After commencement of production applicant may apply for the permenanent registration certificate.
