Hi, I had filed the incometax return ITR 1 before the due date of July 31, 2014 for the financial year 2013-14. The figure filled in the same were incorrect and as per the ITR aknowledgement a self assessment tax of Rs 19000 (approx ) was due. I then received a notice from CPC under sec 139(9) for payment of self assessment tax due. When I re-calculated the tax, the self assessment tax due was coming to Rs 16000 (as the figures filled in the ITR 1 were incorrect). I paid self assessent tax of Rs 16000 (aprox) and uploaded the ITR 1 once again with the correct income figures and tax dues as nil undre the tab "e-file in response to notice u/s 139(9). My query is
(a) whether I need to file a revised return?
(b) whether any kind of action will be initiated by the IT department for teh error in thr ITR 1
(c) the ITR aknowledgement that i currently have is containing wrong figures... is it still valid
Please revert to my query ASAP as in case revised return is required, i need to file the same before assessment is complete
