The Price of Silence: Why You Can't Ignore Foreign Assets in Your ITR
hi
Where will you show minority interest in the consolidated balance sheet as per revised schedule.
Minority Interest is shown under Non Current Liability.
Dear Nishant,
Minority Interest is Not a liability for holding company,It is share of outsiders in subsidary.
Then How can it be presented in Non current liability? What is your justification?
As per my veiw it should be presented after Shareholders Funds, before Non Current liabilitirs
See The attachment
Minority interest:It represents Net assets not owned but still controlled on date of Consolidation.
It is shown on liability side as Non current liability and if minority int is negative then it is recognised as loss in CPL..
so its my view. please correct me if i am not correct.
it is a separate item shown after shareholders fund
As per Accounting Standard 21 - Consolidated Financial Statement
Minority Interest has to be shown as a separate item after shareholders fund.
My previous statement seems does not hold good which is "Minority Interest is shown under Non Current Liability. "
and the Correct one is "it should be presented after Shareholders Funds, before Non Current liabilities" Thanks all for correcting me.
Hello, its a highely debtable issue now.
read this forum, will be very helpful /forum/minority-interest-222714.asp#.UJHz2G93bp8
Minority Interest is to be shown in Shareholders Funds as "Non Controlling Interest"
should be presented after Shareholders Funds, before Non Current liabilities
