Message from Income Tax

Dear ACxxxxxx3H, Sooner the better. File Income Tax Return for AY 2021-22 now at www.incometax.gov.in. Please ignore if filed. Income Tax Department.
Is it mandatory to file an ITR after receiving such a message five times and having less than Rs 3 lakh in bank transactions and income?

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses whether it's mandatory to file an Income Tax Return (ITR) after receiving a reminder message, especially with low income and minimal bank transactions. While the Income Tax Department sends these reminders, filing is generally not compulsory if your income doesn't meet the taxable threshold. It's advised to check your AIS (Annual Information Statement) and Form 26AS for any high-value transactions that might trigger a filing requirement.

NOT COMPULSORY IF YOU ARE NOT LIABLE TO FILE ITR, BASED ON YOUR INCOME.

JUST CHECK YOUR AIS REPORTING I.E. FORM 26AS FOR ANY HIGH VALUE TRANSACTIONS.

Not compulsory. It is just a system generated reminder message. And the most interesting thing about the message is that it is not emphasizing on the due date of income tax filing

Dear Sir
As you said I checked my 26 AS form and nothing in it is recorded in a single table showing zero value in all the cells so give final confirmation to my doubts
