Please clarify the following

1.What is meeting expenses under FBT and what it icludes and excludes?

2.Are all meeting expenses attract FBT?

Under Section 115WB (2) considers expenditure incurred by employer on Conference and Seminars as a Fringe Benefit and hence makes it liable to Fringe Benefit Tax. It includes Conference expenses incurred by the employer other than fee for participation by the employees in any conference. Thus any expenditure on Conveyance, tour and travel (including foreign travel), hotel expenses on boarding or lodging in connection with any conference be shall deemed to be expenditure incurred for the purpose of conference and hence taxable as fringe benefits under this head.
20% of total expenditure incurred as defined above shall be the value of Fringe Benefits chargeable to tax under this clause of Section 115WB (2)(C).
