330 views 5 replies

Hi,

This clarification for senior citizen tax filing.

He has medicines bill of 4000 rupees during FY 20 - 21, but does not have any medical insurance premium paid. How can he get tax deduction for this amount and under which section we can use in ITR 1.

He has prescripttion and medicines bill for the same.

Appreciate your answer.

Thanks

Sec 80D provided that he is resident in the relevant p.y

Pl. Look closely. There's a provision in Schedule 80D, for showing tax-deductible expenses incurred for medicines,  for  senior citizens without any health insurance.

Get medical expenditure deduction u/s 80D for 4000 rupees

Thank you all for your quick response.
